Birds of a Feather~

Hiya out there in blog land. It's Thursday again and I have a fabulous Ways to Use It challenge to share. I just so happen to be the host this week over at Splitcoaststampers. I hope you will check it out and join us, or at the very least check out all of the gorgeous cards! My theme is Birds of a Feather. Basically put a bird on it! :)

With the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday next week I decided to get cracking on my place cards. The turkey and leaves are fantabulous Verve stamps. I just adore this set!. I colored them in with Copic Markers in a rainbow. I just love how the colors *POP*. A few rounded corners and some punches from Stampin' Up! help complete the look. I am handwriting the names. My mini alphabet stamps met their maker at the hands of my 18 month old. Yikes! The twine is hanging out for added texture. Wanna take a peek at the inside??? You know you wanna!

It's pretty simple with just a few stamps. I created a spot where we can write what we are Thankful for. I am planning on putting them all together and making a little mini book. That's all I have for this week. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that I have stepped down from my Pixie Dust Studios design team. It was just time. I am going to miss them a lot but, who knows what the future holds. Thanks for stopping by! TTFN~

Round and Round~

It's time for another Ways to Use it challenge over at Splitcoaststampers! This week I am the host and my challenge is Round and Round. Basically incorporate two or more round elements on your card or project. Can you dig it?

Maybe it is the changing weather or the fact that I love hot beverages and this stamp set but, I was in a coffee kind of mood. The stamp set is Verve in case you were wondering where you could get your hot little hands on your own set. I colored it in with Copic Markers and fussy cut it out. The pattern paper is Amy Tangerine. I just love it! The ribbon is sheer white Offray. I paper pierced around the outside of the pink circle but, you can't really see it in this picture. The scalloped circle is a Spellbinders die. That about covers it. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Apple For The Teacher~

Who's ready for another Ways To Use It challenge? Well then you are in luck because it's that time! This week I am the host and the theme is APPLES!

There are so many ways that you can go with this challenge. I decided to create a teacher card featuring apples. You could make a fall themed card or go with fruit, desserts. The sky is the limit! The stamp that I chose is Hambo! I just love this stamp! I kept the design pretty simple. A little Basic Grey paper and Kraft, White, and Red cardstock. I rounded the upper right corner with my corner rounder. Sometimes it's nice to break out the basics! The border die is My Favorite Things! A touch of white satin ribbon tied into a simple knot and adorned with a button finish the card. If you are in the mood for some amazing eye candy be sure to stop by Splitcoaststampers and check out all of the the Apple themed cards this week! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Something Borrowed, Something Blue~

It's Ways To Use it challenge time! I am the host this week. I thought that it would be fun to do a really broad themed challenge. My challeng is Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue. Basically create a card/project that uses one or more of these factors. Extra (make believe) points if your card is wedding themed. :)

I really embraced all aspects of this challenge. Which I suppose is only fitting since I am the host. LOL. My card is for a wedding/anniversary. As you can see I went with blue, the something borrowed is the flower ( although I'm not giving it back). HA! Something New(ish) is the Pattern Paper, which is My Minds Eye. Something Old is the stamp set, it is retired Stampin' Up!. The die is from The Cat's Pajamas. I added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the flourish in the corner and a half back pearl to the center of the flower. I do hope you will play along with us over at Splitcoaststampers. Thank for stopping by. Stay tuned for my Pixie Dust Studio card later in the day!

In Stitches~

Happy Thursday! It's Ways To Use It time! I am the host this week and my theme is stitching (real or faux). I am moderatly addicted to my sewing machine and I just LOVE sewing on cards. I do hope you will stop by and play along with us!

What we have here is a much loved Pure Innocence from MFT. I colored her in with Copic Markers and fussy cut her dress. The pattern paper is Basic Grey Serendipity. I swoon! This is some seriously gorgeous paper! You can't tell from this picture but, I added a touch of crystal Stickles to her wand and wings. I mean every little fairy needs bling. It's like a rule or something. Right? The border die and label are both MFT. Yes, My Favorite Things is one of MFT! LOL! Three little craft store buttons finish the job. The inspiration for this card came from MFTWSC80. It's been to long since I have been able to play along! Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a fabulous day! :)

Man Cards~

Father's day is just around the corner which means that I have a nice little list of important men who at the very least deserve a card. I have to admit that man cards are some what of a challenge for me. I love ribbon, sparkles, and girly colors. Well it just so happens that I am the host for the Ways to Use it challenge this week over on Splitcoast stampers. I thought that this was the perfect excuse to have a man card challenge!

Two difference cards using the same basic supplies, give or take a button or twine. This adorable little guy is from My Favorite Things, the die is The Cat's Pajamas. The paper is SU! cardstock and MME pattern paper. I broke out the Copics for these. I have to say that I love the way they turned out. It has been too long since I sat down and played. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope that you can play along!

Distressed~

Hey all! It's a beautiful spring day here. I just want to go outside and play in the sun. I have a fun little card to share with you.

I created this card for a Ways to Use it challenge a few weeks back. The challenge was to distress. I had honestly forgotten how much I love to distress. I used both a nail file and ink. I kept the design super simple. All of the products for this card were already sitting on my desk. I love me some crafty recycling! The dies are My Favorite Things. Be sure to check out the awesome Ways to Use it challenge over on Splitcoaststampers this week! That's all I have for today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Grrreat!

It's sunny and warm here which makes it a lot harder for me to be motivated to create cards let alone share them. I just want to be outside playing in the yard with the kids sipping Iced Tea. Alas, I do have a card to share with you today. I created this a few weeks back to the Ways to Use it challenge. I was the hostess and I challenged everyone to COLOR!

I am obsessed with coloring. I really love my Copics but, just about any coloring medium will do! What we have here is lots of layers of Basic Grey and an older Stampin' Up! image and sentiment. Perfect for a little boy's birthday card if I do say so myself. The border die is The Cat's pajamas (the negative portion of it anyway). A sprinkling of silver brads finishes the job. Thanks so much for stopping by. Maybe I will find some motivation for create something today! :)

Gettin' Sentimental~

Heya. We just wrapped up 10 days of Spring Break here. Now it's back to the daily grind. I don't know how you get through your morning but, I personally need coffee. Which brings me to the card that I have to share with you today.

I created this little lovely for the current Ways To Use It challenge over on Splitcoaststamper. You should check it out! Michelle is our fantastic host this week and the challenge is to make a project where the sentiment is the focus. I LOVE this sentiment from my favorite Verve set Better with you. I paired it with some Jillybean soup pattern paper, the sentiment is on a Verve Cut Above die and a few MFT Die-namics finish the job. Voila! Thanks so much for stopping by! :)
I used the Viva La Verve March Week 4 sketch for my card. Those girls at Verve are crafty geniuses!

Rub-ons Challenge~

Hi all! Thanks for stopping by. I have another Ways to Use it challenge card to share with you. This one if from last week and the challenge was hosted by the amazing Toni. She challenged us to use Rub-ons on our projects.

I have to admit that I have a sizable collection of Rub-ons but I rarely use them anymore. Thanks Toni for reminding me how easy and quick it is to put together a fun card with this fun product! I used some retired Stampin' Up! Rub-ons and a little left over ribbon. Lastly I added some faux stitching with my almost dried out Uni-ball Signo White Gel pen and then I added a button to finish the job! Easy Peasy! Thanks again for stopping by. If you have time hop over the Splitcoaststampers and play along with the current Ways to Use it challenge.

Denim

Hey there. I'm back with another Ways to Use it challenge card. I have been horrible about blogging lately. There are just too many other things on my plate. I am hoping to get more crafty time in coming really soon! :)

The challenge was to use denim. I have to admit I was a wee bit intimidated having never worked with denim before. It was so much fun! I added a bit of Basic Grey Picadilly (LOVE IT) and a few MFT Die-namic dies. The ribbon is Offray and the sentiment is also MFT from a Pure Innocence set. The whole thing came together courtesy of my handy dandy sewing machine. That's about it for today. If you get a chance stop bye and join us in a Ways to Use it challenge; Thursdays at Splitcoaststampers.

Pinwheel Flowers

I have been such a bad blogger lately. Life just keeps taking up my creative time. Two weeks ago I hosted my first Ways to Use It challenge over at Splitcoast. It was so much fun!

I challenged everyone to use buttons on their projects. The cards that were created we just lovely! I decided to go with something simple. Pinwheel flowers. There isn't a bit of stamping nor a drop of ink on this whole card. Gasp! I was a little shocked myself! :) The designer paper is My Minds Eye (of course) and added a button to the center of each pinwheel. I hand cut the leaves and the grass. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Gorjuss Borders~

Greetings. I was able to get some crafty time in yesterday! Yay!!! It's a good thing too because, Cathy has an awesome challenge for us today over on Splitcoast. This weeks Ways to Use It challenge is to USE Border punches and dies. If you don't have any then you can use deco scissors too.

As I was flipping through my stamp basket I stumbled upon this Gorjuss girl. I could not believe that I have had her for months and still not inked her up. She was an easy choice for sure. She is just so darned cute!!! The pattern paper is Authentique Splendid. I love my dies!!! It was so hard for me to choose. I settled on MFT Open Scallop Border die-namic and Open Scallop Doily Duo Die-namic layered. I think they frame our Gorjuss girl perfectly!!! I added a little stitching with my Brother sewing machine for texture and because lets face it, I am addicted to my sewing machine. I had so much fun making this card. It's been awhile since I have had a chance to use my Copics. I guess that is the one drawback of having so many darned crafty projects on the proverbial table. :) Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you will pop over to SCS and join in the Ways to Use it challenge this week!
