I Carry You~

Happy Monday! I had a fabulous weekend with the family and I am so ready to get into the studio (i.e. my kitchen counter) and paint! I'm not really sure what I am going to create but, I know it'll be an awesome adventure. Last week was a weird creative week for me, in light of everything that was happening in Boston. My heart felt so heavy! This is what came of it for me.

I Carry You In My Heart~ This may be the most personal piece that I have created yet. It really is art therapy at it's finest! I wrote a poem while I was creating it, they go hand in hand. I have gone back and forth about whether I was going to share that part here. Then I reminded myself that I am being brave. The poem is written around the border of the piece encompassing it like a hug. Couldn't we all use a hug after last week? So in the spirit of being brave, here goes.

I Carry You In My Heart

I carry you in my heart,

there you'll always stay.

I carry you in my heart,

so you'll never go away.

I'll bind you to my heart,

and keep you close to me.

I'll bind you to my heart,

and forever you will be.

Every beat of my heart

reminds me that you're near.

With every beat of my heart,

I'll always hold you dear.
