Hey Pumpkin!~

Fall is in full force around here and I love it! The kiddo's and I carved pumpkins last week for Halloween. It was messy, gooey fun!

Spooky Pumpkins

I have all things fall in my mind right now. Unfortunately, I just don't have as much time to create right now as I have enjoyed in the past. Which is really too bad because I treated myself to Junelle Jacobsen's Art of Holiday Goodness class for my upcoming birthday. I have been loving all of the class examples. I especially love the sketchy style and playing around with watercolors (which aren't my usual medium of choice). It's so much fun to step outside the box and just play.

Just a fun little watercolor sketch of a harvest table.

This is my favorite so far. There isn't anything particularly wonderful about it but it makes me happy. Isn't that the point? :) I'm working in a Bee Paper Company Super Deluxe 4x6" spiral bound sketch book (93LB paper). The smaller size is really nice.
I'm really going to try to keep up with sharing some art through the coming holiday season. I am looking forward to December Daily and holiday cards. We shall see how that goes. Thanks for stopping by.

Make Way For Ducklings~

Spring has sprung! We are so ready for Winter to be over. For warmer weather, blooming plants, and more light. Around here we are making way for ducklings, well watercolor ones anyway. Ducklings in fancy scarves no less.

I must confess that this is not my usual cup of tea. I created it for the Art of Spring workshop. It was a lot of fun! Sometimes it's good to step out and stretch those creative muscles! I am definitely a novice when it comes to watercolor but, I am loving the process. Diving in and getting a bit sketchy. I have a lot of pieces just waiting to be shared. I'm waiting for a day with good light. Waiting patiently for the right timing. Did I mention that I created the duckling in my art journal? I am nearing the last few pages. It's exciting and sad at the same time. Time to scout out a new one. Trying to decide what should round of those last pages. Decisions, decisions....
Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful Things~

Sunday is really one of the busiest days of the week around here. So much so that I could never possibly have time to blog anything. This has been written much earlier but, with no less love!

What we have here is another attempt at watercolor in my new art journal. I have taken an old novel and ripped out pages and Gesso'd and made it mine. I do hope Nicholas Sparks will not mind! I love the size and the way that it will look when it is filled full of lovely colors and wild possibilities. Like a secret world just sitting on a shelf! BRILLIANT!!! Yes, it is another house. I am just a smitten kitten right now. It has a blue door because, my house has a bright blue door. It reads "Blessed are those who see beautiful things in humble places where others see nothing." It just resonated with me. That and the purple sky. What's not to love about that?

Anticipational Delight~

Happy Friday! This week has simply escaped from me! Still it has been productive in some ways. Maybe even the best ways.

I was feeling a bit adventurous the other day and decided to try my hand at Watercolors. I have only ever used Watercolor pencils and a blender. This was a complete departure and took much more patience then I anticipated. I was rather pleased at my amateur results though! This lovely little darling was tucked in an envelope with a kiss and mailed to my sister who is far(ish) away right now. A little bit of sunshine to brighten her day, hopefully. I rarely share my art work with others (like give it away). I guess it feels like a half gift to me. No worries, we are being BRAVE this year I remind myself! I wish I had taken a better picture of it. C'est la vie! She is waiting with anticipational delight. Isn't it just the best feeling? Like the feeling of waiting for something good is almost as delicious as the thing itself! I hope you know what I am talking about.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a lovely weekend!
xoxo~
